About
Over time, every well-made, well-worn garment earns its history. We help give it a future. Wylie Welling is an American brand informed by legacy, integrity, with an appreciation of artisans.
Started in 2026 in Detroit, Michigan by Gretchen Rose Valade, and a small passionate team, Wylie Welling sources, celebrates, and reinterprets heritage workwear to bring new life to deserving pieces, and introduces each thoughtful collection in the form of limited releases.
As a fifth generation of the Carhartt family, great-great granddaughter of Hamilton Carhartt who founded the company in 1889, Gretchen sees Wylie Welling as a way to evolve the brand’s rich history – honoring the durability and functionality of its garments – through timeless silhouettes and styling that brings these heritage pieces into the present.
With Gretchen’s background in sustainability and circularity, Wylie Welling was built on the principles of craftsmanship and longevity. With a curated selection of expertly sourced and reclaimed one-of-a-kind garments, Wylie Welling celebrates the character and unique wear of each individual piece.
A new generation leaves its mark by honoring the ones already made.
